🌴⛓ Chainletter
Our new weekly newsletter covers Chainforest - a recap of our latest happenings, our members’ accomplishments, and our projects to come. We’ll also offer a collection of the best threads and articles sparking conversation within our Discord.
This Week - Mr. Buterin & The Witches - Crypto Coven, Terra Learning Group, Vitalik's Family Tree, and, of course, Gaming, Gaming, Gaming
🧙♀️ Crypto Coven
Y'all know that in Chainforest we love aping into solid projects together as a community. Why? Because it’s fun, informative, and we can nerd out on reveals and project trajectory together instead of annoying our non-crypto friends and family. Most recently, at least 11 Chainforest members participated in the Crypto Coven NFT mint!
So what makes this project so solid? For starters, they have an all female team (this is rare…most female-focused crypto projects have men on the team…not necessarily a bad thing, just an interesting point!), all female pfp features, intricate lore, super inclusive and friendly community, and endorsement from high-profile influencers in the space (e.g. Gaby Goldberg, Sarah Guo, Katherine Wu, Tess Rincearson to name a few).
Taking it a step further, these aren’t just jpegs. Each unique and generative portrait falls under one of six different archetypes - Enchantresses, Hags, Mages, Necromancers, Occultists, Seers - but also have names, astrological signs, and articulations (side note-wondering wtf an articulation is? TL;DR an articulation is a WITCH description that one of the founders created using a combination of her own writing plus OpenAI’s GPT-3 Playground to ensure each WITCH within the 9,999 collection maintained high quality uniqueness. More details can be found here). In addition to the portraits, the team is hard at work building an immersive world for the WITCHES and the roadmap is outlined on the homepage - cryptocoven.xyz.
Suffice to say, this isn’t your average mint & flip scenario. An incredible amount of detail has gone into creating AND sustaining this project long term. Lastly, it’s abundantly clear how welcoming this project is to newcomers as evidenced by their very detailed website sections: THE ROLLOUT and HOW TO MINT. We love to see this. No one should be intimidated to participate in web3 and projects like Crypto Coven will continue to pave the way for web3 mass adoption!

🌖 Terra Learning Group: Round 2
This week Ed @wengzilla led us in another round of the Terra learning group over zoom. It was perfect timing, as the volume of $LUNA finally flipped that of $DOGE and entered the Top 10, perhaps spelling out a strong future for the Terra Ecosystem. With the imminent launches of Stader and Prism, Terra is shaping up to have some serious staking contenders within its own ecosystem. If you’d like to join the next learning group but don’t know where to start, Ed recommends checking out Coin Bureau’s video on $LUNA.
⛓ Links of the Week
Buterin.com: A Chainforest member has dug up a true gem: Vitalik Buterin’s dad’s personal website. If you don’t know about Dmitry, I won’t spoil anything, though I will say the site provides context helpful towards understanding the environment within which Vitalik came to be. More about Dmitry here.
Rekt - Snowdog: A few weeks ago, a few Chainforesters, looking for some thrills over the Thanksgiving weekend, gathered to participate in Snowdog: an ambitious, yet ridiculous, and ultimately dreadful attempt to turn meme coin $SDOG into Avalanche’s reserve currency. Some are trying to make sense of the wreckage, one such source being Rekt.
Vitalik’s latest post on Endgame: Chainforest members have been excited by the recent release of Vitalik’s post detailing his vision for the endgame of Ethereum. It raised conversations again about the titanic struggle between Bitcoin and Ethereum for dominance as the more “sound” resource. Check out the BTC v ETH allocation thread in 🔵│ ethereum.
